The Faculty of Engineering at Afyon Kocatepe University was first established in Uşak in 1992, beginning its educational journey with the Textile Engineering Department in the 1992-1993 academic year. In the 1995-1996 academic year, the Ceramic Engineering and Geomatics Engineering departments began their educational activities in Afyonkarahisar. With the establishment of the Afyon Faculty of Engineering on January 16, 2001, the Ceramic Engineering and Geomatics Engineering departments initially continued their activities within our faculty. Since 2003, with the addition of new departments, education and training activities are currently carried out in 11 departments: Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Software Engineering.

For over 20 years, our most important goal at our faculty, which continues its educational activities, has been to develop our students’ engineering skills and to train successful students in all areas where engineering services are provided. In line with this, our important goals include producing knowledge and technology in the light of universal scientific principles, offering solutions to engineering problems on a regional, national and international scale, training individuals ready for global competition, and excelling in areas that serve as a driving force for our city’s economy. In line with these goals, our faculty continues its educational and scientific research activities with a total of 112 academic staff.

Since our establishment, we have contributed nearly 6400 engineers to our country. Currently, as of the 2024-2025 academic year, nearly 1500 prospective engineers are continuing their higher education in 11 departments within our faculty.
